Women and Dementia Africa is a non-governmental organization, born out of a need arising from the fact that two-thirds of those living with dementia are women. Studies show the prevalence rate for dementia is higher for women than it is for men. In addition, around the world, two-thirds of primary caregivers are women who form most of both unpaid and formal care to people living with dementia

Outreach

In Outreach, Women for Dementia Africa provides services to the population affected and infected with dementia. We target  those without access to those services and no knowledge about the disease

Awareness and Advocacy

Advocacy and awareness for Dementia has been enabled through working with partners, volunteers caregivers and health experts who have the same vision with our organization

Our Team

This is the amazing team responsible in working towards that there is quality and equitable dementia care in Africa

Too often women affected by dementia are overlooked and unsupported. It hasn’t been easy for me, nor is it for the millions of other women that live with dementia, who support someone living with dementia or that make up most of the undervalued and underpaid care workforce worldwide.”
